Warehouse Operative

Flanagan Flooring Ltd are immediately seeking two skilled warehouse operatives to join our busy warehouse team at our Head Office in Saintfield, Co Down (20 minutes drive south of Belfast).

Job Description

 

The key duties are varied and will principally include loading/unloading flooring goods and products by hand, pallet truck, and forklift within a timely and efficient manner.

Our customers are important to us, so It is important that you ensure all products going to them are loaded correctly and carefully in line with health and safety requirements, and that quality control measures are in place to ensure all items are accounted for and stored/loaded correctly.

This is a very physical role that requires frequent lifting and loading of heavy products.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Loading/unloading goods onto/off vehicles and containers.

  • Checking of incoming goods against delivery/advice notes.

  • Preparation and packing of all outgoing goods.

  • Serving collection customers.

  • Proper use of cutting machine and forklift truck.

  • Fully complying with the company’s Health & Safety policy and procedures.

  • Working competently within all the company’s rules and regulations.

  • Completing any other duties as may be reasonably required by management.

Essential Criteria
 

  • Must have at least one full year’s previous experience working within a busy warehouse environment with regular driving of a forklift.

  • Must have a full valid car driving licence.

  • Possess reasonable levels of literacy/numeracy skills.

  • Must have excellent attention to detail, and be able to properly follow oral, written, and numeric instructions.

  • Possess strong communication skills with the ability to work well as part of a team and deal professionally with a wide variety of customers.

  • Strong focus on timings and awareness of working to deadlines/priorities with proven ability to be punctual, reliable, and trustworthy.

  • Be physically fit as heavy lifting is part of this role.

Desirable Criteria
 

  • Must be IT literate to check stock on the computerised system.

  • Forklift Licenses – Possessing both Counterbalance & Reach licences.
