Semi Solid/Engineered Flooring
Engineered wood flooring is quickly becoming the number one choice for both fitters and end users in the UK. The products provide all the aesthetic benefits of a solid wood floor including all of the natural colour and grain variations you'd expect to find in a natural wooden product and the solid top veneer provides the unique look normally associated with a solid wood product. However, engineered flooring also has the added benefit of having a ply or multi-ply core which makes it less susceptible to moisture and temperature changes in the environment which can have a negative impact on a solid wood product and compromise the installation.
As it has a composite core and only a 3mm, 4mm, 5mm or 6mm of a solid top veneer instead of being 18mm solid wood, an engineered product will allow for greater thermal efficiency and can therefore be used with underfloor heating systems in circumstances where traditionally with a solid wood it may not have been possible.
Engineered wood also offers variety of installation possibilities across residential and commercial applications which may not be have been possible previously with traditional solid wood. Unlike solid, engineered can be 'floated' using only an underlay underneath and the glue-less click system (traditional tongue and groove is also available) allows the boards to be fitted with the minimum of fuss, faster fitting times and lower installation costcompared to gluing or nailing traditional solid wood.
We can supply a wide range of semi-solid flooring to retailers and contractors across the UK and Ireland. From our network of global suppliers we continually stock an excellent variety of engineered wood products and a vast array of species including Ash, Acacia, Oak, Merbau and Walnut to give our retail customers some of the very best choice in the engineered flooring market.
